WHO IS REV. RON?

Rev. Ron is an ordained Unity minister, retired from full time church, yet feels passionate about carrying on the message of New Thought based on Jesus' teachings to others through the new technology of the internet.  He is the originator of this website and his son Todd is the webmaster.  Every other week Rev. Ron will offer a message relative to the Liberal Christian and an archive will be developed for future reference.

New Thought is not so new.  It is a more-than-century-old movement dedicated to the healing of the body, pocketbook, and interpersonal relationships through persistent positive thinking and acceptance of one's indwelling divinity.  It applies religious beliefs to solve the problems of daily living.  Based largely on teachings from the Bible ("Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind"), it also incorporates Eastern wisdom and psychological principles.  It is practical, spiritual, and distinctly American.

New Thought fulfills the contemporary hunger for a spirituality that promotes both the practice of the presence of God and health, wealth, and happiness here and now.

New Thought is still evolving; it may yet be the point at which religion, philosophy, and science come together as the most effective combination to move the world to greater peace, plenty, health, and harmony.  Many believe it might be the quintessential spirituality for the next millennium.

New Thought is not New Age.  Most New Agers remain outside any organized religion or even organized spirituality and have interest in the occult, the use of crystals, pyramids, channeling, and other means of expressing their spirituality.  New Thought may discourage interest in the occult, but it does not invariably condemn it.

New Thought churches currently consist mainly of Unity churches and spiritual centers, Science of Mind churches, and Religious Science churches.  Unity is based on the teachings of Jesus and uses the Bible as its textbook.  It is on this basis that we consider this website and the Unity movement in particular, the emergence of the Liberal Christian.
